Harry Potter HBP, A Review.

12:01 AM July 15th 2009.
I couldn’t wait any longer to see the latest installment of the Harry Potter Movies. I was livid last
November what it was announced that Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince release date would
be moved to July 2009. I did something I haven’t done in years, I bought tickets for the Mid-
night first showing of the movie. The Theater was packed with Teenagers dressed like students
of Hogworts. When the Light Dimmed the theater erupted in applause. Sitting there I was
mesmerized. As in the Past Movies, a lot was skinned over or totally ignored. If they were truely
faithful to the Books each movie would be 6 hours long. But unlike this installment, the earlier
movies were a little closer to the books. The first , three quarters of the movies were Great. It was
the last quarter left me saddened, and for because of the obvious. I was anticipating the Battle
between the Students, and the invading Death Eaters. It never came. To me this was a pivotal
event in the book and was sorely missed and needed in the movie. Another disappointment was
the Handling of True book ending. I believe the movie should have been true to this ending as it
sets up a big point in the Final Book and eventually the last movies. J.K. Rowling should have
insisted on this. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is the weakest of the series, and if as I
heard as others left the theater. “ I waited 2 years for this?” I believe the box office will reflect
this. Oh Yes Harry Potter fans will flock to see it. They just won’t go back for a second, third and
fourth look as they did with the previous movies.
Not a good day so far.

Woke up this morning, and Ollie, our fur child is under the weather. He's lethargic and even when I was cooking eggs, he didn't join me in the Kitchen. I called the Vet and have an appointment at 10;30 this morning. Hope it's not too expensive but if it is I'll just use what I have saved towards a new TV.

Summer Solstice

Just wanted to share. This Past Saturday, the Grove of the Red Earth ADF, held their Summer Solstice Ritual.
the Gathering was Fantastic. the Weather could have been a little cooler, but a nice breeze made it bearable.
I always feel so good after a ritual. Following the Ritual we held a Cookout themed feast. the food was fantastic.
We pride ourselves on our feasts. I hope everyone had a Blessed Solstice.

Greetings

It has been over a year since I posted anything. A lot has happened and I will pass all that along in the near Future.
I just wanted to post this so you all will know that I'm still alive, I'm still striving and I'm getting better.
I'll pass along one of favorite Poems. I first heard this poem when I was a child, and it made me cry. It still does.

Little Boy Blue
Eugene Field
THE little toy dog is covered with dust,
But sturdy and staunch he stands;
The little toy soldier is red with rust,
And his musket molds in his hands.
Time was when the little toy dog was new,
And the soldier was passing fair;
And that was the time when our Little Boy Blue
Kissed them and put them there.

"Now don't you go till I come," he said,
"And don't you make any noise!"
So, toddling off to his trundle bed,
He dreamt of the pretty toys;
And, as he was dreaming, an angel song
Awakened our Little Boy Blue-
Oh! the years are many, the years are long,
But the little toy friends are true!

Ay, faithful to Little Boy Blue they stand,
Each in the same old place,
Awaiting the touch of a little hand,
The smile of a little face;
And they wonder as waiting the long years through
In the dust of that little chair,
What has become of our Little Boy Blue,
Since he kissed them and put them there

Saturday's Activities

Started off the usual way. Coffee, than making Greg Breakfast, Packing him lunch and making
sure Ollie our fur child got a sample of both before feeding him. After Greg went to work, Lon
our roommate and myself went to the Library, where I got a card. I must say tho I am very
disappointed in the Delkalb Library. Very poor representation for Pagan, alternative religious
materials. I will have to send off a protest letter to the head of the system. Well after getting
home, it was so hot Lon and I just kicked back and watched a couple of movies.

Took a few days to recover, had a tooth pulled on Tues and was not really good yesterday. I need to get busy on my book review of "A Brief History of the Druids."
For some reason I can write fiction with no problem but when it comes to book reviews or anything like that I am awful.

Starting the DP

Today I downloaded into a file the The ADF Dedicant Path
Through the Wheel of the Year. I am hoping it will help me.
I am not good at studying alone or on my own. I have started
writing my 1st Book Review, Peter Ellis's A Brief History of
The Druids. Again not one of my Strong suits. I was told
that there were examples of good and bad reviews on the
ADF site, but I can't seem to find them. But I am at least taking that
1st step down the Yellow Brick Road.
